You'll gain advanced communication and presentation skills to pitch, present and develop your ideas; and develop proficient digital editing and design skills using industry standard software and programs. 

How would you love to create advanced and complex animations and visual effects for websites, social media, advertising, film and television? From creating animated graphics for social media or commercial advertising, through to complex CGI and visual effects for games and movies, this is a specialist field where the job market is very competitive. This qualification can get you that dream job or take your career to the next level!

You'll gain advanced communication and presentation skills to pitch, present and develop your ideas; and develop proficient digital editing and design skills using industry standard software and programs. 

You'll learn how to do advanced editing on photos and digital graphics; develop storyboards and digital design components; create complex 2D and 3D animations and advanced digital and 3D models; create visual and special effects; prepare video assets; develop digital illustrations; author interactive media; and much more. Learning is hands on, taught by industry experts.

Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification may provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification or university degree, should you wish to pursue further study in this field.

Become a confident entry level animator

Continuing on from the CUA41220-AC86 - Certificate IV in Screen and Media (Animation and Visual Effects) you will further refine your skills in 3D animation, 2D animation, post production and visual effects, sound, and writing. You will be introduced to Real-time rendering and Virtual environments using the Unreal game engine, you'll also gain skills to prepare you for working as an artist in the industry, and undertake your first animation production in a team environment. Upon completion you will be ready to enter the next stage: CUA60620-AC88 – Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (Animation and Visual Effects).

New students who have not studied the course that precedes this qualification should contact the area to ensure they apply for the correct level of study.

This course will only be offered in semester 1 each year.
