Located on the Joondalup campus of North Metropolitan TAFE, the Joondalup Jobs and Skills Centre offers a range of information and services around training and career development.
We can provide free professional and practical advice on training and employment opportunities including careers advice, apprenticeship and training information, and partnerships with industry, and also help with job searching and direct links into work. Our team also has expertise in business and workplace development, and welcomes employers and business owners.
Joondalup Jobs and Skills Centre is only a short walk from Joondalup’s central business district, and being right next door to the Lakeside Shopping Centre and Joondalup bus/train station, it's easy to get to by public transport. Our services
We assist Aboriginal people in Western Australia to get into training or a job, working closely with employers to create job opportunities for Aboriginal people including school leavers. Joondalup Jobs and Skills Centre can provide:
- culturally sensitive employment and career services;
- information on choosing the best training option for your personal and work goals;
- access to job opportunities through our Aboriginal jobs board;
- help with resumés and job applications; and
- referrals to other services, depending on your needs.
We can also assist employers and businesses to create a more culturally aware workplace that can attract and retain Aboriginal employees.

Wanju – Welcome
When you arrive at the Joondalup TAFE Jobs and Skills Centre, you will see signage with the message ‘Wanju’ meaning ‘Welcome’ in the Noongar language of the Aboriginal people of the South West of Western Australia. The signage pays respect to the land on which the centre stands, and it is an invitation and a welcome to Aboriginal clients and all members of the community. Each metropolitan Jobs and Skills Centre proudly displays one of the six seasons in the Noongar seasonal calendar. In the Noongar culture, changes in the environment signalled the change in season, and with each season Noongar people moved to take advantage of natural resources and opportunities.
Birak season – Hot and dry
December and January, the first summer
Noongar burned sections of scrubland to force animals into the open.
Birak is the welcome you'll see at the Joondalup Jobs and Skills Centre.
The artwork for the Seasons signage was created by Nate Stuart, of the Rockingham Jobs and Skills Centre. Features in Nate’s designs relate each centre with the local Noongar language and culture, as well as linking all metropolitan centres together. The designs were developed in consultation with Aboriginal staff in the Department of Training and Workforce Development, Noongar Elder Danny Ford, and Aboriginal consultant Marissa Verma. Mr Ford and Ms Verma have also approved the final designs and their appropriate allocation to each of the six metropolitan centres.

Our facilities
The Joondalup Jobs and Skills Centre has internet-connected computers available, so that you can browse online for jobs, look up information about training courses, write up a job application or update your CV/resume.
Joondalup Jobs and Skills Centre is a 5–10 minute walk from the Joondalup bus and train station.
The Joondalup CAT runs on weekdays – refer to the Jondalup CAT timetable for information about the route and bus times.
The following buses run from Whitfords train station to Joondalup. Follow the links provided to view the timetable for each route.

- Route 466 (via Woodvale)
Weekday and weekend train services operate from various locations to the Joondalup train station. Refer to the Joondalup train line timetables on the Transperth website.
There are two parking areas at the Joondalup Jobs and Skills Centre – the first is off Kendrew Crescent and the other off Lakeside Drive. Visitors may park in allocated bays within each car park; but your vehicle must be registered in the visitor’s book, located in the Jobs and Skills Centre.
Vehicles are not permitted on verges, grassed areas, roads or pathways at any time. Anyone parking without a permit may be issued an infringement notice from the City of Joondalup.
Campus Coffee Inc. operates from Joondalup TAFE, and serves a selection of hot food, wraps and sandwiches. You can shoot some pool, kick back and watch the large plasma screen TVs or just enjoy the peaceful lakeside setting. Open Monday—Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Baytree Deli is also on campus, and it has options for a gourmet lunch, a sweet treat or even take home dinner to heat and eat later. Because it is operated by students and staff of the TAFE's Hospitality and Culinary Arts Centre, the Baytree Deli is very affordable. Open Monday—Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
