Located on the Balga campus of North Metropolitan TAFE, the Balga Jobs and Skills Centre offers a range of information and services around training and career development.
We can provide free professional and practical advice on training and employment opportunities including careers advice, apprenticeship and training information, and partnerships with industry, and also help with job searching and direct links into work. Our team also has expertise in business and workplace development, and welcomes employers and business owners.

Our services
We assist Aboriginal people in Western Australia to get into training or a job, working closely with employers to create job opportunities for Aboriginal people including school leavers. Joondalup Jobs and Skills Centre can provide:
- culturally sensitive employment and career services;
- information on choosing the best training option for your personal and work goals;
- access to job opportunities through our Aboriginal jobs board;
- help with resumés and job applications; and
- referrals to other services, depending on your needs.
We can also assist employers and businesses to create a more culturally aware workplace that can attract and retain Aboriginal employees.

Wanju – Welcome
When you arrive at the Balga TAFE Jobs and Skills Centre, you will see signage with the message ‘Wanju’ meaning ‘Welcome’ in the Noongar language of the Aboriginal people of the South West of Western Australia. The signage pays respect to the land on which the centre stands, and it is an invitation and a welcome to Aboriginal clients and all members of the community. Each metropolitan Jobs and Skills Centre proudly displays one of the six seasons in the Noongar seasonal calendar. In the Noongar culture, changes in the environment signalled the change in season, and with each season Noongar people moved to take advantage of natural resources and opportunities.

Bunuru is the welcome you'll see at the Balga Jobs and Skills Centre.
The artwork for the Seasons signage was created by Nate Stuart, of the Rockingham Jobs and Skills Centre. Features in Nate’s designs relate each centre with the local Noongar language and culture, as well as linking all metropolitan centres together. The designs were developed in consultation with Aboriginal staff in the Department of Training and Workforce Development, Noongar Elder Danny Ford, and Aboriginal consultant Marissa Verma. Mr Ford and Ms Verma have also approved the final designs and their appropriate allocation to each of the six metropolitan centres.

Our facilities
The Balga Jobs and Skills Centre has internet-connected computers available, so that you can browse online for jobs, look up information about training courses, write up a job application or update your CV/resume.
Balga Jobs and Skills Centre can be reached via the following two bus routes.
The Balga TAFE campus car parks come under the jurisdiction of the City of Stirling parking by-laws. Infringement notices will be issued to persons who do not comply with the following regulations.
- Parking is restricted to marked visitor bays.
- Visitors are not permitted to park in staff parking bays.
- Parking is not permitted on any lawn area.
- Speed limit is 15km/h.
- No reckless or dangerous driving.
The Balga TAFE campus has an Aroma Café, which offers a large, tasty variety of fresh hot and cold food and drinks, including coffee. The café is open from breakfast through to lunch and the evening.
Monday — Friday 7:30 am — 7:30 pm. Closed during the weekends and holidays.
