We provide free professional and practical advice on training and employment opportunities including career advice, apprenticeship and training information and partnerships with industry, and also help with job searching and direct links into work.
An interesting fact about the location: The name "Kalgoorlie" is derived from the Wangkatha (Wangai) word Karlkurla or Kulgooluh, meaning "place of the silky pears".

Our team at Kalgoorlie Jobs and Skills Centre wishes to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land upon which we stand and pay respect to the Elders past, present and future and all Aboriginal people for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Aboriginal Australia.
We have strong experience in the region and local communities, great partnerships with industry, and expertise in Aboriginal workforce development and supporting Aboriginal jobseekers.
We assist Aboriginal people to get into training or a job and work closely with local employers to create job opportunities and with the community to spread the word about available opportunities.
Services are free to all members of Western Australia, whether you are a student, jobseeker or career changer.
These include assistance with:
- resumé writing;
- job applications;
- identifying job and training opportunities;
- planning to achieve personal and work goals;
- training information;
- choosing a career or training path;
- access to job opportunities through our Aboriginal jobs board; and
- referral to other services, depending on your needs.
We provide culturally competent employment and career assistance. We can also assist employers and businesses create a more culturally aware workplace that can attract and retain Aboriginal employees.

Disability care sector
Interested in working in disability care or want to find out more about the sector? National Disability Services are available at the Kalgoorlie Jobs and Skills Centre to answer your questions every Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Appointments are recommended.
Apprenticeships and traineeships
We work closely with professionals in this sector. We can help individuals and businesses seeking information and advice to get in touch with the experts.
Aboriginal Services
We offer culturally competent services to assist Aboriginal people with training, employment and career development. We also offer information for employers of Aboriginal people, assisting with engagement, recruitment, training, retention, and can assist with interview panels.
Free resume and other career workshops
Free workshops are available monthly at the Kalgoorlie Jobs and Skills Centre. The schedule can be found on the Jobs and Skills Central Regional Facebook events page, where you can register your attendance.

The team can come to you anywhere across the Goldfields and Southern Cross regions. We offer tailored workshops and information sessions.

Our facilities
Computers are available to use free, with access to the internet. You can explore career, employment and training information, or complete online training and inductions. Staff are also available to help.
The Kalgoorlie Jobs and Skills Centre can be reached by TransGoldfields public bus service. There are bus stops located within 190m or a two minute walk away from the centre.
Kalgoorlie bus timetable
There is a large carpark offering free parking on Cheetham Street, directly opposite the Kalgoorlie Jobs and Skills Centre and TAFE, next to the Goldfields Art Centre.
There are designated disability car parking bays, with one in front of the building’s accessible entrance.
There is no designated bike storage area, however arrangements to secure a bike on the front undercover veranda area can be made. Please bring your own lock.
The Me-N-U Café is located inside the Learning Centre of the Kalgoorlie Campus of Central Regional TAFE. It is open from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm weekdays throughout the school term.
