Have a career under the theatre lights, that won't put you to sleep! Get qualified to work as an anaesthetic technician, working under the direction of anaesthetists during the induction, maintenance and emergence phases of anaesthesia.

This qualification will give you the skills and knowledge required to work as an anaesthetic technician, working under the direction of anaesthetists during the induction, maintenance and emergence phases of anaesthesia.

Your training includes 360 hours of work under the direction of a qualified anaesthetist.

You'll learn about communicating with your work team and in a surgery setting; preparing patients for anaesthesia; complying with infection controls; monitoring patients under anaesthetic; responding to emergencies' assisting with clinical procedures; preparing and maintaining anaesthesia equipment and more.

Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification may provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification or university degree, should you wish to pursue further study in this field.

This practical, hands-on course will help you gain the knowledge and skills required to work in a fast-paced, clinical environment.You will be exposed to a variety of surgical procedures, emergencies and critical care environments. Anaesthetic technicians are typically employed in anaesthetic departments, operating theatres, emergency departments, intensive care and day surgeries.As an anaesthetic technician you will work in consultation with, and under the direction of an anaesthetists, during the induction, maintenance and emergence phases of anaesthesia. Preparing and maintaining anaesthetic equipment, you will play a critical role in supporting quality health care and safe anaesthetic services within a multidisciplinary team.
