Certificate IV in Information Technology [Gaming Development]

If you have a passion for technology and gaming, including virtual (VR) and augmented reality (AR, 360) fields, this could be your future career!

This course will give you job ready skills and knowledge to start your career in a wide range of growing gaming development, virtual (VR) and augmented reality (AR, 360) fields.

Using industry standard software and programs, you'll learn all the fundamental building blocks of multimedia game development. Training is a combination of theoretical and hands on, giving you not only technical knowledge but also actual real life experience.

Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification may provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification or university degree, should you wish to pursue further study in this field.

Launch into a future-proof IT career. 

This course will help you to make your game ideas a reality.  You will learn programming languages and principles for game development engines and how to design and code systems specifically for video games, including character movement, world interaction, combat systems, AI pathfinding and decision making, and much more. 

You’ll also learn the tools for creating in-game assets that add life to your game worlds -  3D models for environments, props, characters and vehicles, 2D digital images for textures, UI and in-game art, audio, rigging, animations and everything your game needs.  

On top of that, you’ll learn all the gameplay design principles and frameworks that separate a finished game from a good game. We won’t just teach you how to make your character jump – we’ll teach you why your character jumps!

Students gain access to the latest technology, preparing them for future-focused real-world working conditions.
