During your studies you’ll learn how to apply government processes and uphold the principles and values of the public service.

Depending on your training provider, you’ll be able to choose electives for areas of specialisation that support your career goals. These include administration services, finance, human resources, injury claims and rehabilitation, border protection, customs, museum management, and customer service.

Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification may provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification or university degree, should you wish to pursue further study in this field.

Aspire Performance Training offers CERTIFICATE IV IN GOVERNMENT as a Traineeship. Students are required to complete 15 units of competency. There are no pre-requisite or co-requisite for this qualification. All 15 units must be completed to attain the full qualification. Where only some units of competency are achieved, a statement of attainment will be issued. This qualification forms part of the Public Sector Training Package PSP. This qualification allows for the attainment of general competencies for those working in entry level roles in the public sector, with a particular focus on meeting the ethical and legislative requirements of the public service. The generalist qualification covers the skills required to operate in a broad range of public service work activities that are generalist in nature.
