If you would love a sparkling as a jewellery manufacturer or designer, this course will give you the high level skills and knowledge that employers are looking for.

Through this course, you'll get access to state of the art studios, facilities and equipment. With lecturers providing you with the right foundation and training, you'll have the confidence and capability to design and create your own unique and individual pieces of jewellery using new and traditional techniques.

You'll also learn to interpret concepts and gain hands on skills to create wearable, decorative or sculptural designs with a focus on on aesthetics and marketing knowledge and skills.

This qualification prepares you for roles such as jeweller, jeweller designer and freelance jewellery designer.

Completion of this qualification may provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification or university degree, should you wish to pursue further study in this field.

Experience creativity through a hands-on approach by studying jewellery design

Gain the core skills and knowledge to design and fabricate jewellery by immersing yourself in this in-depth and contemporary studio-based jewellery design course.

You'll learn to explore concepts and develop your own individual ideas and bring them to life. You will master the fundamentals of soldering, shaping and sawing in metal including finishing and polishing.You'll be creating designs using these practical jewellery fabrication techniques along with complementary skills in illustration and digital design.

This is a great course  for those considering jewellery as a hobby, for general interest, to work in their own studio or as a precursor for our Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications that focus on Jewellery Design. This course is taught in purpose-built facilities and specialised studios at our Northbridge Campus.

This course is only offered in semester 1 each year.
