This training focuses on providing assessment and support to clients with alcohol and drug issues; in private or public healthcare settings, residential care, out-patient services, and community-based centres. You may also work with specialist service providers, such as the Mental Health Commission featured in the video below.
You'll learn about interviewing in the initial client assessment, responding to crisis, working with people with mental health concerns, providing alcohol and other drugs (AOD) interventions, and much more.
Completion of this qualification may provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification or university degree, should you wish to pursue further study in this field.
