No previous experience is required for this course, just a creative mind to work in digital media design. Gain the skills to produce a basic digital prin; and manage digital files for printing in a number of mediums. 

Through this course you'll gain the skills and knowledge use different equipment, systems, software and processes, and to analyse and evaluate information from different sources. It's the perfect place to start your career in digital design and output. 

You'll learn about graphic pre-press, and its position within the printing and graphic arts industry workflow — how to design and prepare layouts and artwork; manipulate images and text to meet production and design requirements; and apply solutions to a defined range of problems associated with, and characteristic to, the print medium. 

You'll also learn how to edit images; select and apply type; manage digital files; produce a basic digital print; and manage digital files for printing in a number of mediums. 

Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study. Note: This course is usually available only as an apprenticeship..

This course is designed to deliver the formal training component of an Australian Apprenticeship in Graphic Prepress. During the course, participants will learn to apply solutions to a range of industry related problems, encompassing different equipment, systems, software and processes, and to analyse and evaluate information from different sources. Participants will develop skills and knowledge of Graphic Prepress and its position within the printing and graphic arts industry workflow. Participants will also learn how to practically implement this learning in the workplace.
