Certificate III in Manufactured Textile Products
Gain the skills to design, sew and construct sails, awnings, covers and other products with a variety of textile materials.
Through this course, you'll develop the skills and knowledge required to design, sew and construct sails, awnings, covers and other products with a wide variety of textile materials such as canvas, acrylic and PVC.
You'll learn about canvas production essentials; working safely; selecting canvas and sail materials to suit the project requirements; industrial sewing techniques; reading plans and specifications; taking measurements, using sail making production tools and equipment; and applying quality standards.
Depending on where you do the training, you can choose units to specialise in areas such as motor vehicle trimmings, marine covers, yacht sails, caravan frames and canopies, welding and constructing metal frames.
Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study.

From cafe blinds to yacht sails this course covers a wide variety of textiles manufacturing
When you undertake the Certificate III in Manufactured Textile Products you will develop the skills and knowledge required to work with a wide variety of textile materials such as canvas, acrylic and PVC. You will also learn how to set up and maintain your machinery and equipment and how to fabricate and install automotive and marine frames, canopies and side curtains.
Opportunities to manufacture and install or repair a wide range of commercial and/or household textile goods such as commercial drapes, yacht sails, shade sails for architectural beauty and shade purposes, tarpaulins, tents, car and boat covers, café blinds, outdoor blinds and awnings etc are waiting for you if you pursue this career.
