Whether your future career interests are in dairy, baked goods, fresh produce or beverages — this course will grow your skills in food processing for a range of interesting roles in the food production sector.

This course is for food processing workers employed sectors that include grain processing, baking, retail baking, beverages, confectionary, dairy processing, fruit and vegetables, grocery products, and poultry.

Alongside in-demand foundational skills for food production work; you'll learn how to participate in environmentally sustainable work practices, implement a food safety program, monitor the implementation of quality and food safety programs, and contribute to OHS processes.

Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study. Note: This course may also be available as an apprenticeship.

This qualification is offered as a traineeship in the brewing industry where students can earn and learn concurrently. With an emphasis of ‘on-the-job’ training, this nationally recognised qualification reflects the role of individuals working as operators in a brewery who have responsibility for overseeing all or part of the processing plant and brewing equipment. They are required to work autonomously, use judgement, interpret information, and apply solutions. 

All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, in accordance with state/territory food safety, and work health and safety codes, regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace.
