As a shearer, you could travel the country and enjoy working with farmers and wool producers. With this course, you'll be qualified to shear at least 40 adult merino sheep or 50 adult crossbred sheep per day.

This nationally recognised and accredited course will give you the skills and knowledge to prepare handpieces for machine shearing; position and crutch different types of sheep; maintain and service shearing equipment such as grind combs and cutters; and assist with shearing shed activities.
You'll be able to able to shear at least 40 adult merino sheep or 50 adult crossbred sheep per day — the minimum standard for a novice shearer. Training is hands on, so that you can gain experience in shearing.
Completion of this course can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study. It's also an excellent pathway to an apprenticeship or traineeship in this industry.
