Certificate II in Music
This is an exciting and hands on course where you'll get to work with and learn from creative people and industry experts.
If you'd love to work in the music industry — here, or anywhere in the world — this course is a great introduction to a musical career in either performance or sound production.
You'll receive an overview of the creative arts industry, with a specific focus on the music sector, and learn about the technical equipment and computers used in music making. You'll also learn how to record and transform sound, and produce a demo track. Depending on where your focus is — performance or sound production — you’ll gain the skills you need to confidently play, sing and perform, or assist with sound recording and editing.
This nationally recognised and accredited qualification can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study. It's also an excellent pathway to an apprenticeship or traineeship in this industry.

Participants will also build their ensemble skills, working with fellow students to rehearse and perform music. Upon completion of this qualification, students will have a good understanding of the music industry and best practices.
When you complete this course, you will be ready for a career in the music industry. You will have the skills and knowledge to enhance your current musical skills for performance purposes. You can choose to learn skills that enable you to play music or sing, develop a demo recording, use technical equipment and computers, record and transform sound and prepare yourself for performance.
