Young Western Australians are gearing up to showcase their skills on a national stage as they prepare to compete in the prestigious WorldSkills Australia National Championships and Skills Show.
Held from 12-14 June 2025, the National Championships and Skills Show is Australia's largest vocational education and skills excellence competition, bringing together the nation's most talented individuals to benchmark their expertise against industry peers.
The competition culminates in a medal ceremony on 15 June, celebrating the outstanding achievements of participants.
The 74-member team representing Western Australia were presented with their uniforms at a ceremony at Parliament House on Wednesday evening.
The presentation marks the beginning of their journey to Brisbane, where they will compete alongside top regional competitors from across the country.
TeamWA comprises apprentices, trainees and vocational students, including 30 students who will take part in the VET in Schools categories.
They will compete in categories including 3D digital game art, automotive technology, bricklaying and carpentry to cookery, cybersecurity, fitting, floristry, hairdressing, patisserie, and welding.
Medal winners may also be considered for selection in the 2026 Team Australia Skillaroos, to compete in the WorldSkills International Competition in Shanghai in 2026.
