Supporting women in trades: Women in Non-Traditional Trades Scholarship program

The State Government is helping break down barriers for women entering non-traditional trades, with the $2 million Women in Non-Traditional Trades (WiNTT) Scholarship program.

Applications are currently open for the WiNTT Scholarship program, with 100 scholarships on offer in 2026 across Western Australia’s five TAFE colleges.

Each $5,000 scholarship helps break down the financial barriers women often face when training or upskilling. The scholarship can help cover costs such as course fees, tools, workwear, transport, and childcare.

Over four years, the State Government is investing $2 million to deliver 400 scholarships, as part of its commitment to build a more inclusive and skilled workforce.

These initiatives align with the launch of the State Government’s ‘You can make it here’ campaign, which highlights the key role of TAFE in supporting Western Australia’s priorities of jobs, health, and housing.

Fee free and low fee TAFE courses continue to offer flexible pathways into a wide range of industries, with the deadline for competitive course applications extended to 14 November 2025.
