Gain important skills to keep pets safe, and qualified to work as an authorised microchip implanter, with this short course.

This short course skill set will qualify you to work as an authorised implanter, under the Western Australian State Government Regulations for microchip implantation of cats and dogs. 

In addition to learning how to implant a microchip in cats and dogs, you'll also gain the skills and knowledge to monitor and maintain animal health and wellbeing; and deliver appropriate care for animals so that stress and discomfort is minimised. You'll also learn about workplace health and safety processes.

This skill set consists of units from nationally recognised and accredited qualifications. The units you complete  could count towards other qualifications such as a Certificate III in Animal Care Services, a Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care, or a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Implant microchips in dogs and cats with appropriate care 

You will gain the skills and knowledge to understand, interpret and apply microchip implantation procedures on cats and dogs, whilst exhibiting appropriate care for animals so that stress and discomfort is minimised. 

This skill set is suited to individuals who wish to become an Authorised Implanter in conformance with the Western Australian State Government Regulations for microchip implantation of cats and dogs.
