You’ll learn about using effective questioning, active listening and rapport building to gain trust and gather information for early intervention for domestic and family violence.
The training also covers ethical considerations; legal aspects such as legislative and statutory requirements and reporting; procedures, practices and standards; and referral sources and associated protocols.
This skill set consists of units from nationally recognised and accredited qualifications. Successful completion can provide credit, should you pursue further study in a related qualification.

You will learn how to use effective questioning techniques, active listening, and rapport-building strategies to gain trust and gather critical information. The training also covers:
- Ethical Considerations: Understanding the moral responsibilities involved in handling sensitive situations.
- Legal Aspects: A comprehensive overview of legislative and statutory requirements, including mandatory reporting.
- Procedures and Standards: Best practices, protocols, and standards for handling domestic and family violence cases.
- Referral Sources: How to identify and utilise appropriate referral sources and understand the protocols associated with them.
This skill set is ideal for healthcare and community service professionals, as well as anyone interested in developing these vital skills.
