Entry to Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Designed specifically for experienced early childhood educators who don’t meet the newest entry criteria, or have an out-of-date qualification, this course is a bridge to earning your Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

This nationally recognised and accredited qualification provides you with the skills and knowledge that contribute towards satisfying the entry requirements for the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

This course is designed specifically for individuals who:

  • hold an Australian diploma in early childhood education and care; or
  • an Australian diploma or certificate III in children’s services;

and cannot demonstrate 12 months of cumulative employment to gain entry to the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

You will need to complete three units of competency, and undertake work placement with children between the ages of birth and six years in a regulated education and care service.

Lead the Way in Early Childhood Education

This nationally recognised Skill Set provides a clear pathway to meet the entry requirements for the CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care for students who hold a superseded Certificate III or Diploma in Children’s Services or Early Childhood Education and Care.

It is ideal for individuals who are passionate about children’s wellbeing and development, have practical experience in childcare settings, and are highly motivated to progress to diploma-level qualifications to support their career advancement.

The Skill Set is typically completed within 6–12 weeks, with flexible pacing designed to accommodate work and personal commitments. While this skill set is not a full qualification, it serves as a targeted bridging program to support further study.

As part of the training and assessment requirements, learners must complete a mandatory work experience component. Skills must be demonstrated in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia.
