Learn to provide outside school hours education and care
During this course you will learn to provide care and meet the social, emotional, physical and leisure needs of children in middle childhood. You will also be learning about the theory and knowledge required to work and lead in diverse situations.
As part of this qualification you will need to undertake ongoing work placement where you will be able to apply the skills and knowledge you have learned. You will work closely with children and families from different backgrounds and cultures and provide care and support for them.
If you are or have been, working in School Age Education and Care you may be able to gain full or partial qualification and achieve your Diploma in a shorter period of time through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), see the Important Information tab below for more details.
The qualification reflects the role of educators who work in a regulated Outside School hours care service in Australia. Educators at this level are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum that meet the requirements of an approved framework And for maintain compliance in other areas of service operation. They may be responsible for supervising staff and volunteers.
