This qualification is designed for licensed electricians who would like to increase their professional development by broadening their knowledge in understanding how processing plant architectures are put together and how to write up plant control philosophy. It could potentially open more doors for you and allows the individual to branch out into other pathways in the future.
You will learn the fundamentals of field instrumentation coupled with the programmable logic controller (PLC) in assisting you to fault find more easily. You'll also learn how to install, commission, and maintain electrical control systems and other instrumentation, control equipment and systems, and write specifications for electrotechnology engineering projects. The course also covers electrical safety, sustainable energy, and compliance.

This qualification provides competencies to develop, select, install, commission, maintain and diagnose faults/malfunctions on electrical, instrumentation and control equipment and systems, including problem solving in industrial networking with HMI plant interface. This post-trade professional development gap training is aimed at those participants who are interested in learning or upskilling in writing engineering specifications and problem-solving skills in industrial networking with PLC with HMI interface. Students are required to hold an un-restricted Electrical Licence.
