What they do
In this short video, you'll see the specialist sterilisation team at the Townsville University Hospital in Queensland.
Referred to as "the heart of the hospital", they’re a 24/7 team of specialty nurses who are a key part of providing safe healthcare to the community, but most people have no idea they exist. Their work is behind the scenes, but it's of critical importance.
In 2020. the team cleaned and sterilised almost 1.5 million pieces of equipment!
