Certificate IV in Engineering (Instrumentation)
Get an engineering trade qualification for instrumentation technicians in a range of industries and sectors and learn how to fault find, test, maintain, and calibrate instrumentation systems and equipment — including single and multiple loop control systems.
If you need additional skills in instrument calibration and testing, this is the course for you! This qualification has been specifically designed for any qualified trades person such as unrestricted electricians, electrical fitters, engineers in the resource industry, refrigeration technicians, or apprentices in their third or fourth year of study.
This training delivers the essential skills you need to work in the engineering trades — including engineering hand skills, measurements, computations, technical drawing and safety — as well as specialist skills in instrumentation technologies.
You'll learn how to fault find, test, maintain, and calibrate instrumentation systems and equipment — including single and multiple loop control systems. You'll also learn how to install, commission, calibrate and maintain modern instrumentation and control systems; as well as loop turning of multicontroller or multi-element systems.
Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification may provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification or university degree, should you wish to pursue further study in this field. Note: This course is only available as an apprenticeship.
