If you're an experienced pharmacy assistant looking to expand your skills to become a senior pharmacy assistant or shop manager, this course can take your career to the next level.

This training will give you the skills and knowledge to move into managing and supervising the pharmacy team. It will equip you with key skills include managing staff; undertaking recruitment, selection and employment tasks; implementing and maintaining required standards according to regulations and legislation; and coordinating the promotion and sales of pharmacy products.

You'll also gain specialist skills in the supply and hire of home healthcare aids and equipment; testing blood pressure and blood glucose and advising on equipment and services for management; assisting  customers with asthma care aids and equipment, continence management products, wound care products, vitamins, minerals and supplements; and more.

Completion of this qualification may provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification or university degree, should you wish to pursue further study in this field.

Please note: This qualification is not eligible for fee-free training if undertaken as an existing worker traineeship (EWT). However; selected qualifications in key industry sectors are available as EWTs, with reduced course fees (limited places may apply). Entry into this qualification is open to employees who have completed the SIR30116 Certificate III in Community Pharmacy or relevant industry experience as a community pharmacy assistant and have completed the unit SIRCIND002 Support the supply of Pharmacy Medicines and Pharmacist Only Medicines. Gateway Training Academy offers individualised delivery and assessment strategies that will be developed based on the actual needs and requirements of both employees and employers to ensure effectiveness and time efficiency. Senior pharmacy assistants are often responsible for the management of particular functions in the pharmacy, the management of a range of health categories or for the supervision of pharmacy staff.
Accredited training can help you develop management skills and provide specialised support in the pharmacy, while granting you formal recognition of your existing skills.
