This course is designed for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people working to provide a range of clinical primary health care services to clients and communities.

The job roles aligned with this course include developing and implementing community-based healthcare programs, providing advice and assistance with medication, administration of medication; and providing general healthcare services across the community.

This training addresses the specific legislative responsibilities of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners and is required for national registration with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board of Australia.

Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study.

Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd. (KAMS) offers annual training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners in the Kimberley region of WA. HLT40213 Certificate IV in ATSI Primary Health Care Practice consists of multiple 2 week study blocks at our campus in Broome as well as local clinical placements over the course of 10 - 12 months. Marr Mooditj Training offers the HLT40213 Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice qualification. The qualification is delivered over 8 blocks of three and four weeks each of face-to-face classroom delivery and includes a 360-hour mandatory work placement.
