Certificate III in Security Equipment
This training will give you the skills you need to install and configure wired and wireless security systems, which is a growing field with great job opportunities.
This course covers security industry ethics and protocols; workplace safety; fabricating electronic components; using electrical diagrams and drawings; repairing electrotechnology equipment; laying wires and cables; assembling and setting up security systems; and installing and testing large security systems. You'll be on your way to a great career or even your own security system installation business in no time! Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study.
Please note: This qualification is not eligible for fee-free training if undertaken as an existing worker traineeship (EWT). However; selected qualifications in key industry sectors are available as EWTs, with reduced course fees (limited places may apply). When you complete the Certificate III in Security Equipment, you’ll be ready to start a career as a security equipment tradesperson. You’ll gain the practical skills and knowledge to confidently install, service, and maintain both small and large security systems, including CCTV, and make your mark in the electronic security industry.
You’ll learn to troubleshoot circuits, work with both wired and wireless systems, and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes, and specifications. Along the way, you’ll develop a strong understanding of workplace health and safety, ensuring you can carry out your work safely and professionally. By the end of the course, you’ll have the hands-on experience and technical know-how to step straight into the electronic security industry and make an immediate impact.
