This training is the perfect introduction to extend your critical and creative thinking skills to work effectively in the contemporary screen and media industries. It could set you up to work in digital video, radio and online content creation, as a production assistant in film and television, a camera or lighting assistant, production or editing assistant — even as an interactive media or content author.
You'll learn how to use industry standard professional industry equipment, programs and resources; and develop knowledge of broadcast and electronic media production processes, audio, lighting and camera equipment and technology. This course will also develop your skills to manage live production teams and performers, and more!
Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study

This nationally recognised qualification is your foundation pathway into the world of film and content creation, and a solid stepping stone towards further study in screen and media. Guided by our expert lecturers, who bring genuine industry experience, you'll build strong foundational skills across digital technologies and multimedia production. From scriptwriting to filming and editing video, capturing and preparing photo assets, you'll learn how to shape raw footage into polished, engaging content.
Across the course, you'll get hands on with camera and lighting techniques, sound recording, editing software and visual storytelling. You'll also explore the foundations of typography and vector graphics, applying these skills to create titles and text-based visuals for video and multimedia projects.
This entry level course equips you with in demand skills for entry level assistant roles across the screen, media and entertainment sectors, and gives you a strong foundation to progress into further studies. The knowledge you gain is also valuable across a broad range of industries where digital content plays a role.

You'll practise your skills in a simulated workplace environment, using industry standard software and gaining hands on experience operating pre-production, production and post-production equipment.
