This course will give you the skills to work as a geoscience field assistant, pit technician or on an exploration team in mineral, oil and gas exploration undertaking various duties in the field and office. Skills and knowledge covered include heritage concerns, quality standards, risk control, how to take and record site samples and workplace safety.

Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study.

This Certificate III in Mining Exploration will help prepare you for entry level jobs in the mining industry such as a pit or underground technician, drilling offsider or geological field assistant.

You'll learn how to collect and analyse geological samples, record information and look after the practical tasks involved in servicing a remote field operation.

You'll also learn mining computing, first aid and mining methods.

​It is strongly advised that you obtain a manual licence and complete a four wheel drive course to improve your employment prospects.
