Certificate III in Jewellery Manufacture (Jeweller)
If you would love to work in jewellery design and manufacturing, this is the qualification for you!
You'll gain skills and knowledge for a wide range of jewellery manufacture work including designing and making jewellery and small objects using a wide range of materials including different metals and stones, woods, plastics and fibres.
You'll get hands on experience using a range of hand and power tools for jewellery manufacturing, and the latest design software and technology. You'll also learn how to interpret design drawings and perform the computations required for the manufacturing process.
A range of elective units are available, to enable you to specialise in areas such as jewellery repair, casting, gemstone setting, and wax modelling.
Here's a career where you can sparkle and shine! Completion of this nationally recognised and accredited qualification can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study.
Please note: This qualification is not eligible for fee-free training if undertaken as an existing worker traineeship (EWT). However; selected qualifications in key industry sectors are available as EWTs, with reduced course fees (limited places may apply). The Certificate III in Jewellery Manufacture (Jeweller) is a four-year apprenticeship program delivered through employment in a professional jewellery workshop, combined with part-time study at North Metropolitan TAFE, Northbridge campus.
This course prepares you for a hands-on career in the jewellery industry, developing a strong foundation in bench skills, CAD, jewellery design, and the technical knowledge required to work as a commercial jeweller in a manufacturing environment.
Upon successful completion, you will have the skills to pursue employment opportunities both in Australia and internationally. The jewellery industry is dynamic, creative, and competitive, with success shaped by artistry, originality, and commitment to the trade.
This course also provides a pathway to further study, such as the Certificate IV in Design (Jewellery Studio). With additional training and experience, you can enhance your employment prospects, increase earning potential, and specialise in specific areas of jewellery design and manufacture.
