
Certificate III in Dental Laboratory Assisting
If you'd like to start a career in the exciting field of dental technology work, this is the course for you!
Through this nationally recognised qualification, you'll gain the skills and knowledge to work as a laboratory assistant; helping dentists and dental technicians to construct, repair and adjust dental appliances for cosmetic or restorative use.
You'll learn how to pour dental impressions; produce custom made trays; construct registration rims; use a range of laboratory equipment and tools; and construct thermoformed bases and appliances then update the dental records. Other units in the qualification include communicating in a healthcare workplace; first aid; workplace diversity; infection controls; and business administration skills.
Completion of this course can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study.

When you complete the Certificate III in Dental Laboratory Assisting you will be ready to start a career in the busy dental technology world, as a laboratory assistant helping dentists and dental technicians to construct, repair and adjust dental appliances.
You will gain the career enhancing knowledge and skills to work as a member of the dental laboratory team. With the skills that you develop in this course you can transfer into the HLT55118 Diploma of Dental Technology as an apprentice in a dental laboratory.
The Certificate III in Dental Laboratory Assisting includes supervised work skills in a simulated dental laboratory at our newly fitted out Dental department at our conveniently located Leederville campus.
