You’ll gain the key skills needed for clothing production, including pattern making; sewing; and how to create and produce a range of garments. You’ll learn about different fabrics; cutting techniques; finishing and alteration skills; and much more!  The Certificate III in Clothing and Textile Production covers a range of subjects relevant to fashion and clothing production.

You'll also learn about drawing and interpreting a basic sketch; fabric performance and handling requirements; and how to embellish garments by hand or machine.

This course develops skills in fashion design concepts, pattern making, industry sewing techniques for stretch and woven garments as well gaining an understanding of fabrics and sustainability. Planning your designs, costing and marketing are also covered, assisting you to start your own business or employment in the fashion industry.

South Regional TAFE is transitioning this qualification to the new training package in 2024. Students will be enrolled into the new units developed to meet current and future industry needs. Fees may vary for courses transitioning to the new training package.
