Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology

Jobs and Skills WA: Construction courses

Learn how to create and build furniture and cabinetry for construction and installation in residential or commercial settings.

Through this nationally recognised and accredited qualification, you'll learn how to work as a cabinet maker or carpenter — either in a factory setting or on a work site — in the construction, manufacture and installation of timber and composite products. This may be in residential settings for bathrooms, kitchens and other areas; or in commercial settings such as offices, retail spaces, or hotels.

You'll also learn about different kinds of timbers and finishing products, doing measurements and calculations to work out required materials, how to do different joints, use a range of tools and equipment, creating basic scale design drawings, and applying surface coatings with spray equipment.

Completion of this course can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study.
