Want to be a cut above the rest? If you aspire to be a skilled barber, this course, delivered one day a week on campus, allows you to study while gaining hands-on experience as an apprentice in a hairdressing salon.

- taking responsibility for work outcomes
You will be required to participate in our Student Training Salon which is open to the public, with real, paying clients. This qualification provides a pathway to work as a barber in any industry environment, usually a barber shop or salon.
Recognition of Prior Learning is available for this qualification to qualified hairdressers.

Join the barbering revolution
This progressive program, developed in collaboration with a range of barbers is technically specific and practical. The program is facilitated by experienced barbers who are industry current. Choosing Taylorweir to be your “off the job” training provider ensures that you are taught with the most up to date training methods that are both current and creative.
Off the job training is one day a week for three semesters (1½ years).
In WA, you must be an apprentice to commence and complete this qualification.

This qualification reflects the role of barbers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation and technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of barbering services to clients. They use discretion and judgement to provide client services and take responsibility for the outcomes of their work. This qualification provides a pathway to work as a barber in any industry environment, usually a barber shop or salon. 1 day per week for 18 months for off the job training. Apprenticeship Duration - 3 years.
