Certificate III in Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology

This qualification is all about those finishing details, and getting you job ready for your future career!

Completing the Certificate III in Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology will provide you with the knowledge and training to manufacture, repair and maintain trim components of a range of motor vehicles, marine craft and boats, recreational and other vehicles.

This nationally recognised and accredited qualification covers the skills and knowledge needed for removing and replacing vehicle interiors; sewing and trimming; fabricating components; carrying out repairs to automotive and marine trim; and much more! You’ll also gain essential skills in welding and soldering.

Completion of this course can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study.

Please note: This qualification is not eligible for fee-free training if undertaken as an existing worker traineeship (EWT). However; selected qualifications in key industry sectors are available as EWTs, with reduced course fees (limited places may apply). To see the list of qualifications available as reduced fee EWTs, please visit jobsandskills.wa.gov.au/training#subsidised-training and select the 'Existing worker traineeships' tab. Studying this course will give you the hands-on skills and technical knowledge needed to manufacture, repair and maintain trim components for a wide range of vehicles - including motor vehicles, marine craft, and recreational vehicles. You’ll learn to work with different materials, tools and techniques used in the automotive trimming trade, gaining confidence in tasks like upholstery, fitting soft furnishings, and restoring interior components.
