Tourism and travel is a huge global industry, and offers fantastic career opportunities in a range of areas including events management, travel agent, reservations consultant, conference and function management, hotel and resort management, attractions guide, tour guide... and so much more!
Through this nationally recognised and accredited qualification, you'll gain job ready skills in customer service and communication, and learn how the industry works with an overview of its different sectors, plus a range of entry-level skills and knowledge to get you job ready. From here, you'll be able to choose what area of the industry you're interested in and go on to further study or get an entry level job.
Completion of this course can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study. It's also an excellent pathway to an apprenticeship or traineeship in this industry.
Please note: This qualification is not eligible for fee-free training if undertaken as an existing worker traineeship (EWT). However; selected qualifications in key industry sectors are available as EWTs, with reduced course fees (limited places may apply). This Qualification provides students with foundational knowledge of the tourism industry, preparing them for work as tourism service attendants across a range of organisations, such as travel agencies, tour companies, hotels and resorts, and museums.
Throughout this course, students will learn how to source and use information about the tourism industry, provide a high level of customer service, respect and display social and cultural sensitivity, and participate in safe work practices.
This is an entry-level course designed to deliver fundamental tourism skills that students can use as a pathway into the local tourism and hospitality industry.
This qualification is undergoing scoping and will be replaced with the updated national qualification ID in Semester 2.
This course is not currently available at any private training providers.
