You'll gain an understanding of the fundamentals of process plant operations, including how to use and operate production equipment to produce particular materials and substances in a process plant environment.
Depending on the TAFE or training provider you choose, you can select elective units including working in confined spaces; operating breathing apparatus; working at heights; and controlling minor incidents.
Completion of this course can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study. It's also an excellent pathway to an apprenticeship or traineeship in this industry.

Our Certificate II in Process Plant Operations offers students exposure to the fundamentals of process plant operations. You will learn to use and operate production equipment to directly produce particular materials and substances.
This course forms part of the Chemical, Hydrocarbons and Oil Refining Training Package (PMA16) and offers a number of specialist unit streams. It is typically used to prepare new employees or develop existing workers performing an operational role in the following chemical, hydrocarbons or refining sectors.
