The Certificate II in General Education for Adults is approximately equivalent to Year 10 for the purposes of applying for a TAFE course and will meet the entry requirements for most Certificate II, III or IV level TAFE courses.

The Certificate II in General Education for Adults is designed for adults who want to improve their literacy, numeracy, and general education skills to access further study, employment, or participate more fully in the community.
This qualification focuses on developing the ability to interpret and create a range of familiar and unfamiliar complex text types, including both paper-based and web-based formats. You will learn to work with structurally intricate texts, apply everyday and formal numeracy skills in different contexts, and gain the knowledge to conduct a project. The program also supports you in investigating pathways and developing, implementing, and reviewing a learning plan.
By concentrating on essential literacy and numeracy skills, this course provides a strong foundation for personal development and future educational or employment opportunities.

The Certificate II in General Education for Adults assists you to develop your reading, writing, maths and employability skills to prepare you for a further study pathway. The course caters for a wide range of students within a supportive, flexible, adult learning environment.
Successful completion of this course will meet the entry requirements for most Certificate II or III TAFE courses.
All General Education students are required to participate in a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) session to determine their current LLN level. This will help determine if the course you have chosen is a good fit for you and at an appropriate level. Please note we have limited places for our courses and attending the session does not guarantee you a place.
Please note This course will only run with sufficient enrolment numbers for the intakes on each campus, and it is not equivalent to completing years 10, 11 or 12.

If you study at Thornlie or Armadale campus, you can choose your elective units from construction, barista, cabin crew, game development foundations and general pathways, providing various options for you to become job-ready.
