Certificate II in Engineering Foundations

Thinking about a career in engineering? Get an introduction to this exciting field, and gain a range of skills and knowledge that can set you up with a a head start on getting an apprenticeship.

This nationally recognised and accredited qualification is designed as an entry level course for people interested in an engineering career. Engineering offers a huge range of specialities, which makes it exciting, but with so many choices for your future career it's helpful to learn more about what type of jobs are out there and to gain some skills and knowledge that are useful across all areas. 

This training will give you a great overview of engineering and the different types of engineering work that's out there. You'll learn how to perform engineering measurements, use hand and power tools, work safely, and so much more.

Completion of this course can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study. 

It's also an excellent pathway to an apprenticeship or traineeship in this industry.

The Pre-apprenticeships are a practical way to build your skills and gain a more promising look into the engineering industry and your desired trade. The Pre Apprenticeship is a Certificate II that creates a stepping stone from school to apprenticeship. The skills in the program prepares and gives the basic skills to start working in the engineering workshop or factory. Real projects involve welding, bench fitting, sheet metal work.
