Certificate II in Building and Construction (Pathway - Trades) (Solid Plastering Pre-apprenticeship)

Get job ready for a smooth career in construction, and a head start on your apprenticeship, with job ready skills and knowledge including how to read and interpret plans and perform measurements and calculations, as well as in basic plastering techniques and applications.

Plastering is one of the most important trades in the building and construction industry, and a big part of the end look and style of the building. But it's not just decorative — plastering also involves protective coverings for the interior and exterior of buildings and homes.

From smooth plaster finishes through to textured renders, filling in cracks or covering bricks, plastering happens on a range of surfaces and for a range of reasons. Plasterers are needed for new construction projects in both residential and commercial settings, but also on renovation projects. There's also a specialty field for plasterers in restoring historically significant or heritage buildings. This course will give you an excellent range of skills and knowledge including how to read and interpret plans and perform measurements and calculations, as well as basic plastering techniques and applications.

When you complete this nationally recognised and accredited pre-apprenticeship, you'll have the job ready skills and knowledge that employers are looking for in a new apprentice — a great head start for you!

Completion of this course can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study. It's also an excellent pathway to an apprenticeship or traineeship in this industry.
