Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology (Heavy Vehicle Servicing Pre-apprenticeship)
Get the job ready skills and knowledge employers are looking for as a heavy vehicle or plant mechanic. This course is a great entry-level point to the industry, and an excellent pathway into an apprenticeship.
If you loved playing with trucks as a kid, this could be the career for you! And this nationally recognised and accredited qualification is the way to get there.
The heavy vehicles and plant that are used every day across Australia's mine sites, construction and infrastructure projects — as well as for transport and distribution — all need a bit of maintenance and repair, and that's where you come in. You'll gain skills for:
- working on loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks and haul trucks;
- inspecting and servicing braking, steering and suspension systems, driveshafts and engines;
- using a range of tools and equipment for maintenance and repairs; and
- inspecting and servicing transmissions, steering, brakes, fuel injection systems, hydraulics, and batteries.
Completion of this course can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study. It's also an excellent pathway to an apprenticeship or traineeship in this industry.
