Certificate I in Engineering

Get started on your engineering career, with this introductory course. Engineering is an exciting field of work, offering fantastic job opportunities across a range of industry areas. 

If you're interested in a career in engineering, the Certificate I in Engineering is for you! With this course, you'll have an opportunity to learn in a simulated work environment and be exposed to an industrial setting through work experience.

The course can include skills and knowledge such as working safely in manufacturing and engineering; manual handling; using hand and power tools; and using workshop machines for basic operations. You'll also learn about setting goals, completing work to schedule, communication skills, and working as part of a team.

Completion of this qualification provides credit into the Certificate II in Engineering or other related qualifications, and is a great head start if you are looking for an apprenticeship or traineeship in the engineering field.

Throughout this course, students will learn how to undertake a range of simple engineering tasks under close supervision. This program is a taster program to promote the Metals and Engineering industry as a possible career pathway.
