If you're keen to start a career in the automotive industry, this course will give you the skills and knowledge for entry level work in retail, service and repair. It's the perfect way to get a head start on a pre-apprenticeship or apprenticeship, because you'll already have the basics!
Through this training, you'll learn how to assess automotive workplace safety; identify electrical and mechanical systems; safely use and maintain tools and equipment; and get hands on experience practicing automotive repairs with an environmentally sustainable awareness.
You'll also learn a range of entry level automotive service tasks such as how to refit and balance tyres; how to strip and rebuild engines or disc and drum brakes; the basics of car servicing; how to splice and solder wires; creating a working circuit; and car electrics.
This short course skill set consists of units from nationally recognised and accredited qualifications. Completion can provide credit towards a relevant higher level qualification, should you wish to pursue further study.

Throughout this course, students will learn to evaluate safety in automotive workplaces, identify electrical and mechanical systems, and safely use and maintain tools and equipment. Students will also gain hands-on experience in automotive repairs with an emphasis on environmental sustainability.
Additionally, students will cover a variety of entry-level automotive service tasks, including refitting and balancing tyres, stripping and rebuilding engines or disc and drum brakes, the fundamentals of car servicing, splicing and soldering wires, creating a functioning circuit, and understanding car electrics.

AUR10120 Certificate I in Automotive Vocational Preparation. This program provides an introduction into the service and repair industry. Throughout this course, students will learn how to undertake a range of simple automotive tasks under close supervision. This program is a taster program to promote the automotive industry as a possible career pathway.
