Build paraprofessional-level skills in risk assessment, identity management, digital forensics, cloud security and penetration testing — and graduate ready to help defend organisations across commercial and government sectors. This is North Metropolitan TAFE’s flagship cyber security qualification. We were the first TAFE in Western Australia to open a dedicated Cyber Security Training Centre, helping to skill the next generation of cyber security professionals for one of Australia’s fastest-growing industries.

You will develop the technical and theoretical expertise to perform risk assessments, manage identity and access, conduct penetration testing, undertake digital forensics, secure cloud environments, and respond to cyber threats in real-world settings.

Graduates work as cyber security paraprofessionals across commercial enterprises, government agencies, and as independent consultants.

What you will build

  • Real-world security risk assessments and penetration testing experience
  • Identity management, critical infrastructure protection and threat evaluation skills
  • Virtualised cyber security infrastructure design and implementation
  • Digital forensic investigation skills for workstations and mobile devices
  • IoT vulnerability identification and advanced computing knowledge
  • A working understanding of IP, ethics and privacy in ICT environments
