Advanced Diploma of Electrical - Engineering
Are you a qualified electrician looking to upskill for a career in electrical engineering for the design, specification, planning and managing and auditing of instrumentation, electrical, and control systems?
If you're a qualified electrician wanting to expand into electrical engineering, this nationally recognised and accredited course will give you the skills and knowledge required to become a technical Authority responsible for ensuring compliance to local regulation and AS/NZS standards. This qualification meets the requirements for the Engineering Associate Membership with Engineers Australia.
You'll learn how to solve electrotechnology engineering problems using maths, material science and physics in planning and managing large electrical projects. Key areas of the training include how to:
- design and validate/evaluate electrical equipment and systems;
- manage risk;
- estimate and manage projects; and
- provide technical advice/sales.
You'll also learn about the ethical and responsible application of mathematics, science, engineering techniques, standards and codes of practice, engineering design practices, supervision and management of physical, human and financial resources in engineering. and developing engineering solutions for a range of computational problems and electrical circuits.

PMV owns a purpose-built facility located in Booragoon.
This centrally located campus is accessible through public transport with good road linkages to the North, South and East of Perth. This campus includes two classrooms and a workshop that allows participants to practice new skills in a safe, simulated workplace. The workshop is fully fitted out with a range of practical equipment that is currently being used in WA resource industry.
The business invests significantly in ensuring that the equipment is always up to date and representative of what would be found in any worksite.
