Advanced Diploma of Creative Product Development (Photography)
Get set for a career as a professional photographer skilled in a range of techniques including drone operation, virtual reality, alternative process (wet darkroom), video and multimedia for commercial, portraiture, wedding, fine art, landscape, documentary and photo-journalism work.
This nationally recognised and accredited qualification combines creative product development skills with a strong photography focus. You'll build on your skills across a range of photographic genres and learn to research, plan and produce professional work for exhibition and studio contexts. The course also develops digital imaging and practice using digital design tools and the latest visual production skills aligned with industry trends and professional standards.

You'll have all the skills and knowledge needed for professional photography work across commercial and domestic markets in a range of areas as well as for freelance work, studio employment or even running your own photography business.

This qualification prepares you to work in the industry as a professional photographer, providing you with practical skills and knowledge in the areas of high-level image capture, sophisticated post-production skills, business development and creative thinking skills. Genres of photography include commercial/advertising, portraiture and wedding, fine art, landscape, documentary and photo-journalism and more.
A range of photography techniques are covered during the course including drone operation, VR, alternative process (wet darkroom), video and multimedia. North Metro TAFE's lecturers are closely involved with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (and other professional bodies) and you'll be supported to participate in both state and national photography events, proving you the opportunity to network with some of Australia’s and the World’s leading professional photographers.
Our courses are recognised by our Industry body Pro Photography WA.
Please note this course is only offered to commence study in semester 1 each year.
